JAVIER ARENAS
The Alabama Football Team will begin SEC play Saturday afternoon as Arkansas will visit Tuscaloosa in a nationally televised game broadcasted by CBS. At first glance Arkansas may be considered by some to be the most improved team in the SEC under second year coach Bobby Petrino. Michian transfer QB RYAN MALLET appears to be the perfect pro style gunslinging type of quarterback that coach Petrino prefers to run his offense. Arkansas has three areas of obvious weakness defense, special teams, and an inability to maintain possession of the ball without turing it over. It is mainly for this reason as well as overall team depth that Alabama should pull away in the 3rd quarter and win this game handily. My key to the game will be Javier Arenas's abilty to disrupt the flow of the razorback offense from the Alabama secondary as well as his potiential gamebreaker ability on special teams.
The key defensively for the tide may hinge on Terrance Cody's ability to stop the run as well as push the pocket with an occasional pass rush. Alabama comes in as a 17 point favorite in this one and in my opinion they will cover. PREDICTED SCORE BAMA 38 ARKANSAS 17...
